Your adventure begins the moment you climb aboard one of Wānaka’s charming tuk tuks. Feel the breeze, take in the lakeside views and enjoy the ride as you travel to Tiaki Bees’ special location.

This experience is run as a shared small-group tour, meaning you may be joined by other like-minded visitors along the way. It’s a relaxed and social way to enjoy the journey and the experience together.

There, surrounded by nature, you’ll step into the fascinating world of the hive. Hear the gentle hum of thousands of busy bees and learn how these tiny creatures keep our ecosystems thriving. The Tiaki Bees team will guide you through their conservation work and the art of honey making, sharing insights into native pollinators and life inside the hive.

Suit up and take a closer look at the bees in action. Watch them tending the comb, see the honey glisten in the sunlight and, if you’re lucky, you may even spot the queen herself. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting of Tiaki’s delicious honey and take home a small jar as a sweet reminder of your visit. Then hop back in your tuk tuk for a relaxed scenic ride home, reflecting on your new appreciation for nature’s hardest workers.

Approx. 1 hour bee tour plus around 10 minutes each way for tuk tuk travel. Operates Tuesdays and Thursdays, December to March. Includes tuk tuk transfers from i-SITE Wānaka, guided beehive visit, protective gear, honey tasting and souvenir jar. Suitable for ages 5+.
